Cons of Framesets

Frames still have a place in web design, but there are now better ways to construct pages without using frames. Before you start building a frameset, ask yourself why you are doing so and consider the items below.

• You can not bookmark a specific page within a frameset.
• Printing is not possible, unless the user knows what they are doing.
• Building with too many frames
• File management - pages consist of three to four files
• Frames often do not scale properly.
• Search Engines can not properly catalogue sub-pages
• Framed pages limit accessibility
