Extract:

Select the Extraction Filter from: Filter >> Extract

Using the highlighter, draw on either in inside or the outside of the image. Once completed, use the bucket to fill the area and hit >> preview <<.

You can always return to the image to make edits. Once you are happy with the end result, you hit >> extract << to finalize the process.
