Personal Branding

Over the next few weeks, we will be discussing branding and logo design.

You will want to sit down and take some time to decide whether you wish to develop some branding for yourself, i.e. "Joe Student - Multimedia Developer" or a company, i.e. "Media Media".

Either case will require some thought and justification. There are some things to consider.

  • Is there a domain name available?
  • Will a company name become dated?
  • Which will allow me to differentiate myself from everyone else?

For next week, look into domain name availability and start sketching ideas for a logo and brand. And define your brand objectives.

The objectives that a good brand will achieve include:

  • Deliver the message clearly
  • Confirms your credibility
  • Connects your target prospects emotionally
  • Motivates the buyer
  • Concrete User Loyalty

To determine your brand objectives ask the following questions:

  • What is it that you want your brand to do for you or your company?
  • What do you want others to know or say about your products or services?
