Types of Portfolios

The types of portfolios you should have are to allow you the best type of response and interaction with a potential employer, etc.

Online portfolio

This is your web portfolio. Design for it to be scalable, changeable to make your needs and job outline.

Print/Hardcopy portfolio

Always take a hardcopy of your portfolio to an interview. You never know with whom or the type of location you will have your interview. Online access may not be an option.

With a hardcopy you can control the direction of the interview by allowing the person to view your work while you talk about the individual projects, elements, etc.

Leave behind portfolio

Make sure you protect your intellectual property (IP) and not have any code or items that are open source.

Never leave your "last copy" of something behind.

If you are interviewing for a position that is more programming based, you may need to have some code available for the person doing the interviewing to look at.
